Though a crossroad is simply a place where two or more roads meet, they have a lengthy history within stories of myth and legend. Since Ancient Greece, and maybe long before then, crossroads were seen as portals and borders of where two worlds met such as the natural and supernatural, mortal and immortal, even the living and the dead.
