It's at 1920 feet (588 meters) elevation so cooler than the coastal towns but warmer than other highland towns. El Valle has grocery stores and restaurants. But for most shopping or medical care, you will need to drive about 1 hour to Coronado or Penenome. WARNING: It is VERY DIFFICULT to find a rental in El Valle de Anton. El Valle is a town in central Panama. It's in the crater of an extinct volcano, surrounded by mountains and cloud forests. To the north, Cerro Gaital National Park protects 3 hills: Cerro Gaital, Cerro Pajita and Cerro Caracoral. Its trails have ocean views and the park is home to hundreds of species of native birds, including the red-legged honeycreeper, the bay-headed tanager, and the blue-crowned motmot.
