With Pride and Prejudice being just as popular today as it was in the 18th century, I'm taking a look at some of the real life filming locations from film and TV. From one of the best examples of a Elizabethan Prodigy House, to one of the grandest and most elegant Country Homes in the world, here are some of the real life filming locations from Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen's 1813 romantic novel Pride and Prejudice is one of the most popular novels in English literature. Set against the backdrop of the English Regency period, Pride and Prejudice focuses on the turbulent relationship between Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. But, for those of us who are captivated by the extravagance of the Regency Era, the grand and opulent English Country Homes depicted in Austen's novel are just as integral to the story, as the characters. Fortunately, with several film and TV adaptations of Jane Austen's novel, we can truly imagine what the world of Pride and Prejudice might have looked like, and the real life English Country Homes that might have inspired it. In this video I will be focusing on the BBC's 1995 TV mini-series, and the 2005 movie adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, and taking a look at the real life Country Homes that feature in them.
