Side punches can look super cool when you get the timing right or they can look like a total train wreck. These are a lot of fun and critical building blocks for more advanced combinations. They can be done on on a d-hook as well as a ball and hook like I have. The timing need to be just right on both of them. The D-hook will be a little more problematic when doing these. It’s a lot of mass to try and turn on a dime. In no ways am I saying it can’t be done, I learned how to do these punches on an everlast d-hook, so I know the struggles. I still remember watch a video of Skunk using a ball and hook and I DM him asking where can I get that!? He told me how a couple of options the rest has been history. Again, many many ways to do side punches, these are how I like to do them. You will see that videos like this will help you become a better version of YOUR style.
