Have you ever thought about how cool it would have been if they combined the YM2151 and YM2608 to create video game music in the late 80s? Well, I made that dream combo a reality! Here's the 'Battlefield - Activation (戦場 始動)' FM-arranged version from Etrian Odyssey 5 by Atlus. This version uses real YM2151 and YM2608 sound chips, a single PCM channel for the orchestral Hit, and even YAMAHA RX5 for the rhythm part, so it's got that classic arcade game sound we all love. I tweaked and recreated it from the original version that used VSTi plugins. This song is seriously my favorite out of all the battle themes after series 4.
