O Gauge Live Steam: Crewchester at 70

This video is a celebration of Crewchester at 70 and consists of clips from Graham's open days in May and Sept 2022. While the majority of sequences are of live steam, there are some of battery electric and clockwork. In 2022, Graham made two changes to the track layout which increased the operational interest. Firstly all three of the through platforms in Crewchester can access the top loop. This allows Crewchester to be a passing place for trains traveling in opposite directions. Secondly there is a new crossover next to the viaduct allowing trains traveling anticlockwise to immediately get to the up line to Abbottsdene. Spot times when there is a down train is waiting for the viaduct to become free. Especially in the Sept meeting ,we tried to set the signals correctly both to pause the running of steam engines as well as setting the route when moving off. In the middle of the afternoon, we took time to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Crewchester Station lead by Stuart, Jack Ray's son. I'm indebted to William Hart and Graham Sheppard who provided some clips. The running order is as follows. You will also notice Nicolas' battery powered radio controlled Tornado in multiple sequences. 00:00 - Intro 01:03 - LNER D49 John 02:52 - King Arthur Tony 04:26 - LNWR Precursor John 06:33 - Merchant Navy Alex 07:42 - West Country Tony 09:32 - Morning pickup - John and Jack 14:17 - LNER L1 John 17:03 - West Country Graham 18:27 - GNR Atlantic Dave 20:30 - Celebration Interlude 20:58 - Clockwork Schools - Alex 22:29 - Coal fired Atlantic - John 25:33 - West Country Graham 30:48 - LNER Q6 Dave 32:24 - LMS Compound Graham 33:56 - LNER B16 John 33:28 - The End
