The game is a platform genre, but has strong RPG elements. Demon's Crest is part of the series: Gargoyle's Quest and Ghosts'n Goblins. The game tells the story of a civil war in the kingdom of demons, this war was caused by the mysterious appearance of crests in the realm of demons, if the crests are gathered the bearer of them earn unlimited powers. Then the demon Firebrand (Red Arremer in Japan) known character of the series Gargoyle's Quest (a spin-off of another famous series: Ghosts' n Goblins), win the civil war and conquer five of the six crests.
