Hey everyone! Seeing the concrete slab poured for our garage apartment build was like the icing on the cake. The foundation is the only part of the build that we are contracting out. We had been working so hard to get to this point, clearing trees, moving dirt, soil, gravel, rocks and sand around. Digging trenches, installing conduit, compacting sand, installing more conduit and compacting MORE sand… We had several runs of conduit, which cost about $1500, we were lucky as we were able to reuse some old conduit we got from a friend for some of the project saving us hundreds of dollars. The cost of the crushed stone and the sand probably ran us about $10,000 from footers to backfill.
