In this video I demonstrate how to play the song Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix. I review the intro, verse and chorus as well as the guitar solo. I provide insight on how to establish the Hendrix tone for this sound and perform it on my Eric Johnson strat in order to emulate the tone and sound as close as possible. I cover relative major and minor pentatonic scales and how to understand and figure out how to determine relative major and minor keys and how to locate them on the frets board, as well as how this applies to the song, style of music and the way Jimi Hendrix encorporated these techniques in his music.
