Water Tech® Pool Blaster PRO 1500 - Review and Field Testing

WEBSITE: http://www.swimmingpoollearning.com/ YouTube Video Index – A list of all of my videos:http://poolmandave.blogspot.com/2014/... This is the Pool Blaster Pro 1500 which is Water Techs most powerful cleaner. This thing has great suction and can be used in a pool route or just as a powerful tool for a homeowner. I like this cleaner as it works well. Let me give you a rundown on the good points and some minor drawbacks. As you can see from the video it picks up debris on the bottom very well. The suction is good on this thing for sure. It saves me a lot of time and back break - I just bring this back to a pool and drop it in. It picks up leaves and dirt no problem, the battery life is great and it is easy to push along the pool bottom. Some minor drawbacks are - it can't clean shallow steps so those will have to be brushed down or you can use the Catfish or Pool Blaster MAX ;). The debris bag while good will get filled up on a larger pool or pools with lots of debris. Simply pull the Pro 1500 out and empty it. Not a real hassle. I guess my only real concern is that this thing is all plastic. You don't want to drop it. I am going to suggest to the manufacturer that they add an aluminum plate type frame to the bottom and the handle to beef up the unit. The battery cap is not a major concern as long as it is properly lubed up. The water seal is fine. No issues there. I've been using it for over two weeks now and have vacuumed a lot of pools. Basically, whatever will clog your regular vacuum will clog this. So running over a pile of leaves is not a good idea. It has the same opening size as your regular pool hose that you connect to the skimmer. You can pretty much vacuum at the same speed you would if you were hooked up to the pool skimmer. That is one thing I like about it, you don't need to crawl across the pool floor. The standard bag that comes with the unit is extremely good a picking up dirt and particle debris. The capacity is not enormous but sufficient. I like the Pool Blaster Pro 1500 even with the drawbacks listed. The benefits of this thing so far out weigh any of it's shortcomings. A solid product.
