Teneinde een realitische weergave te krijgen is de snelheid van de film tot 75% verlaagd. Daardoor klinkt het geluid wat uitgerekt. Dit was dus een compromis tussen goed geluid of goed-lopend beeld. In elk geval is het geluid nog steeds synchroon met het beeld. This is part-1 of an extremely interesting documentary about The Netherlands in 1929. The original film has been motion-stabilized, speed-corrected, enhanced and colorized by means of modern A.I. software. Due to the fact that the speed has been reduced to 75% of the original, the audio may sound a bit slurred. This was a compromise between either maintaining the correct sound speed versus the film running far too fast. It starts with storm scenes at the harbor heads at Scheveningen, followed by footage of the Zuiderzee, the construction of the Afsluitdijk with its sea locks, the Wieringermeerpolder, rural and agricultural scenes, the Pompstationsweg with the water tower at The Hague, windmills in the province of Zuid Holland, a coal mine in the province of Limburg and ends with farms, castles, ruïns, churches and a religious procession in this province.
