Hexproof is a keyword mechanic in Magic the Gathering that prevents opponents from targeting a permanent or player with spells or abilities. While a player may still target their own permanents that have hexproof, this ability essentially protects something from removal or other negative effects. While a permanent with hexproof can still be destroyed, exiled, or otherwise taken care of, the number of direct answers to cards with hexproof are naturally limited.
