Brindavani Thillana: Bharatanatyam Dance

To invite this group for a live concert, please visit https://indianraga.com/live or email [email protected] Brindavani Thillana, a Bharatanatyam piece, performed to the IndianRaga production of the popular Dr.M. Balamuralikrishna composition in Brindavani Ragam, Adi Talam. Choreographed and performed by Swathi Jaisankar, Asha Rowland, and Shefali Appali, this Indian Classical Dance portrays Lord Krishna and his Gopikas throughout the piece. This includes the Nritta portions where the dancers incorporate movements using Mayura hastas depicting the peacock, which signifies the peacock feather on Krishna’s head. The Sahityam or lyrics describe Krishna’s beauty and how the whole world feels overjoyed at the sound of his flute.
