Indigenous Australians fight a feral buffalo crisis | Outback Ringer

Since their introduction feral buffalo have thrived in lush areas of Arnhem Land in Northern Australia. The wild animals are a big issue for people who live on and manage the land in the Top End, causing extensive damage to natural waterholes and billabongs, destroying wetlands and spreading weeds. Traditional Owners Annette and Shantelle Miller say mustering the feral animals brings many benefits to the local community. #OutbackRinger Subscribe now: http://ab.co/subscribe ___________________________________________ Outback Ringer follows a handful of brave men and women making a living catching feral bulls and buffalo in the desolate Australian outback. Annette Miller and her daughter Shantelle, are two of the Traditional Owners of this region. Well I grew up here as a young girl, running wild in the bush, living in bush shelters.
