Wanted to give more info on this game for those interested. I was red and the original poster was blue. This is how we did it; We started with a harbor settlement, city, and settlement on the PaE board. Once we discovered all the land (with moon and sun hexes), the sea robber blockade at the top of the first board clears and the middle section of the map (Seafarers/LotSR scenario expansion boards) opens. We were required to bring a settler from the first map and drop it on the starting island. We had to use the player pieces from the two board separately. Once the first player reached 65 victory points and maxed out the progress cards from CaK (great exchange, high assembly, and university), they discovered flight and were given a colony ship for the Starfarers expansion (everything: resources, progress cards, development cards, friends, etc is left behind). If the players who remain on the planet are more than 7 VPs behind the first one to space, they are given two colony ships when they leave the planet. I ended up winning the space race and blue won colonizing the galaxy for a final score of 85-83 VPs. It was an amazing journey. We are thinking of getting the Rise of the Inkas expansion. Then we can have ancient, medieval, colonial, and space eras. Klaus just needs to make a modern era expansion and our story of Catan’s history will be complete.
