The Museum of the Gulf Coast houses three galleries with notable personalities of the region. The Music Hall of Fame has more than 80 musicians representing a wide array of genres, and includes Janis Joplin. The Sports Legends Gallery features more than 75 area athletes. The Notable People Gallery contains 40 plus individuals who have achieved national and/or international recognition in a professional endeavor. The museum also specializes in Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast history.
