I've been waiting for this locomotive to be revamped by Graham Farish for nearly eight years now. I fell in love with the prototype when I conducted research on West Highland Line motive power for my future Highlands layout. While digging through Google and YouTube, I found a video of 48151 "Gauge O'Guild" leading "The Jacobite" during the 1996 summer season. For me, it made absolute sense to own a Stanier 8f and have it run on the layout. That's how I ended up wanting to have an 8f in N gauge. And here it is now, 48773, currently allocated to the Severn Valley Railway, after three even longer years of waiting from the moment its production was announced till it arriving (late) on my Loch Dennoch micro / nano layout on Tuesday, Feb 2. Sound fitted, immaculately modelled and an absolute smooth runner, with realistic speeding and braking behaviour ... it is a modeller's dream come true. (contains unpaid advertising)
