In this video, I give you my long-term (4 year) review of the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. The Xperia XZ1 Compact was one of the last in the Sony’s “Compact” branded line of phones, and was released back in October 2017. How has it held up almost 4 years later? The XZ1 Compact is pretty much the same size as the new iPhone 12 mini, which didn’t seem to sell well and that’s most likely due to the relatively high price. Phones like this are targeted to people who want a companion mobile device, meaning something to just handle occasional phone calls, text messages, periodically checking social media, all while being easily pocketable. Not something they depend on for everything, from work to entertainment. So, those who want compact phones like this probably primarily use a laptop or computer most of the day and don’t want to spend a lot on a companion phone.
