How to use my Chainmaille Aspect Ratio chart

This comprehensive chart shows Aspect Ratios (AR) for different gauge and diameter jump rings. It shows Inner Diameters (ID) from 5/64" to 1/2" and wire gauges from 14 to 20. It calculates the aspect ratio for SWG and AWG gauging systems and explains what SWG and AWG are in relation to chainmaille jump rings. *UPDATED: 6/17/2019* I have added some common mm sized rings to the chart. Not all of the mm sized rings have an inch equivalent so I have added them in where needed. I run into tutorials all the time that call for a 5.0 mm ID ring but my chart doesn't show that so I have to guess what size ring to use or keep calculating what the AR is based on different gauges. Hopefully, this will make this an even more comprehensive chart. I have not updated this video but I have uploaded the new chart to my Etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop/busybeadsnmaille *UPDATED: 4/29/2018* I added the mm sizing to the gauge diameters. So now you have the inches and the mm for the gauges. i.e. 14 gauge wire SWG is .080 inches and 2.032 mm. The resulting aspect ratios are the same so nothing changed there but I have found that having the size in mm is helpful when purchasing jump rings. I have not updated this video but I have uploaded the new chart to my Etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop/busybeadsnmaille This is a must have for anyone who does chainmaille. It has really helped me be more consistent on my finished jewelry knowing what size jump ring will work with which weave using the AR. It takes the guess work out of completing the item as well as cuts down on prep time.
