Songs from this 4-song session of duets with pianist Ivon de Bie have rarely been included on Django Reinhardt reissues and compilation albums. The session is unusual for at least a couple of reasons: 1.) Django plays violin, his first instrument, and 2.) he plays alongside a pianist playing a two-beat, quasi-stride piano accompaniment (lots of "oom-pah", just like the 1930s rhythm section of the QHCF). The session was also in a different country (Belgium) for a different record label than most of Django's wartime small-group recordings.
