You’ve been eating Cơm Tấm wrong your whole life! 🇻🇳

🇻🇳 You know how sometimes, at like 2am, you can have this craving for food? Well I had that this morning. Except the food I was craving was Cơm Tấm (Vietnamese broken rice), which is a Saigon specialty and unfortunately is not great up in Hanoi. My intense hunger slowly made me give in to buying a ticket to Saigon at 3am, and rushing to the airport to catch a 5am flight. After arriving in Saigon, my buddy ‪@Macoi24‬ came to pick me up and take me to a Cơm Tấm out in District 4. It's a teeny tiny stall hidden away in an alley, that I have no idea how Max found. I'm still very impressed by his food-finding skills. This place has tons of toppings to go with the broken rice, from smoked pork to egg-meat pies, fried eggs, etc. I decided to go big and get a plate with everything on it. One plate is only 45k VND (~$1.80 USD). Definitely worth it. While eating, Max noticed a shipper walk up we both noticed the shipper do something we had never seen before. He asked for the juices that had dripped off from the meat (the cooked meat, not raw, don't worry.) He said it was the only way to eat com tam, so I decided to ask the lady cooking and give it a try. I must say.... it's a game changer. Com tam in general is delicious, but having some of the delicious meat juices soaked into the rice, takes the dish to the next level. Was a unique and pleasant find. After breakfast, Max and I went to a coffee shop called "Cheese Coffee". Max went off to secure out seat while I ordered. While bringing up the coffee's my clumsy butt dropped one of them, but I must say, Cheese Coffe cup packaging is magic or something cause it barely spilled any. I'm impressed, and also very sleepy.
