DYA717 Japan Toyko June 15, 2024 [Shinagawa Aomono-yokocho; Izakaya Yuntaku in Shimbamba; Akihabara; MUJI RICE; Yakitori and Sake restaurant] June 15 – 6:30 a.m. breakfast at the Toyoko Inn Aomono-yokocho Eki. Started this morning with a BURA-BURA to warm up the creaky joints. Went up the street in the direction of Shinagawa Station and in 10 minutes at a slow casual pace, reached last nite’s Izakaya Yuntaku. I didn’t have to catch the train and could have saved 300-yen roundtrip train fare had I know it was such an easy walk. 😊 Then I continued going and reached the Toyoko Inn Shinagawa Takanawa Guchi in 32 more minutes. My Runkeeper app says it was a .91-mile walk from Izakaya Yuntaku to Toyoko Inn Shinagawa Takanawa Guchi. Stopped at Shinagwa Station for a hydration break and for a successful errand. Then I jumped onto the Yamanote line and headed towards Ueno Station. Decided to check out Akihabara, the electronics specialty as well as for MAN-GA, Anime and video games area. Had lunch on the restaurant floor at the train station. I chose the Yakitori and Sake restaurant. Had lunch with a glass of Kyoto sake. After lunch, I rode the escalator down and found a MU-JI RICE section. I thought MU-JI RICE was rice so I kept looking for it in the rice section of the grocery stores. But, it’s a special health/generic products store for home goods and apparel. Almost 8,000 steps and 3 miles so far. Headed back to hotel for a senior nap. Later, I went to a restaurant nearby hotel for evening snacks. This video is a composite of misc photos I usually share with family and friends. Nothing fancy; you’re welcome to view it.
