Rob Burman was literally born into the Industry. As a 3rd Generation artist, he began playing with clay as a child under the eye of his Father and Grandfather; both respected artists in their own industries. From the start of his career 40 years ago, he has been developing and compiling the knowledge and experience of what it takes to be a successful Special Makeup Effects Artist. Working on films such as "The Thing", "Ghostbusters", "The Fly" and numerous "Star Trek" features has given him great insight and the resources needed to accomplish these kinds of effects. In that time, he has personally trained hundreds of aspiring Artists in the craft. Many have gone on to highly successful careers and won awards for their fine abilities and craftsmanship. He enjoyed teaching so much, he decided to create his own lab where he teaches courses in creating prosthetics and applying them using the techniques he has honed over the decades. He also created his own company, Rubber Wear, in which he produces production latex appliances used by countless SPFX artists around the world for a variety of entertainment applications.
