Especially during the development phase of a project when you need to remove/install the drivetrain many times for fitment and accessibility purposes. Most if not all newer BMW's made from the 90's on have a removable core support. Ease of installation and service, and also makes it a replaceable item in the event of a crash. For our purposes, we wanted to keep the lower part attached to the frame to maintain stock support dimensions, so just the upper was removed. Spot welds, Weld nuts, Rivet nuts, and through bolts.
