Koyunbaba "Moderato" - Carlo Domeniconi Performed by Fiona Harrison.

"I had the pleasure of performing this work to Carlo Domeniconi in the early 1990s. He loved the unfolding improvisatory nature of the performance and was hugely encouraging. I enjoyed the way that Carlo suggested to play particular passages twice, or three times if I felt so moved and he gave me the freedom to explore, make creative decisions and move away from the score at times". Fiona Harrison Koyunbaba is the name of a wild and remote region in southwestern Turkey that is believed to have certain magical properties, and it is also the name of a medieval Turkish saint. The literal translation is “father of sheep,” or shepherd. This recording is the first of four movements. It is performed here on a guitar made by Philip Woodfield. www.fionaharrison.co.uk Recorded with a Canon Legria Camcorder, a Sony ECM mic and uploaded to YouTube via iMovie.
