Gran Canaria Cycling: Arriving in Taurito. 4K

The GC-500 road in the south of Gran Canaria is a very scenic route that follows the coastline west from Maspalomas as far as the holiday resort of Taurito. It used to continue to Puerto de Mogán, but that section is now permanently closed due to landslides. This is a nuisance if you are cycling, as the only other road to Puerto de Mogán from Taurito connects with the GC-1 motorway and it cannot be used by cyclists. If you wish to hook up with the GC-500 after Taurito you will have to try and organise a taxi, or else travel by ferry from either Arguineguín, Playa Anfi del Mar, or Puerto Rico. This video shows the last section of the route as it descends into Taurito. It also shows the beach and some of the resorts.
