Backpacking and Wild camping the South downs way A 100 mile trail

The South downs way is a 100 mile long route which follows the chalk hills from Eastbourne to Winchester. The route goes through quaint English villages steeped in history with many local pubs close to the route. The views are breathtaking with many miles walked on the windy tops but some stretches take you through dense woodlands too. Some hard climbs and the path can be hard on the feet with the small sharp flinty stones so good footwear is needed. All in all a lovely walk.
