Synopsis: During the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar, music and all other forms of art were at the peak, courtesy the state's patronage. But it was during the regime of Aurangzeb that artists and musicians got persecuted, as Aurangzeb believed that music takes man away from GOD so it should be shunned. Even after Aurangzebs's death, various rulers who succeeded him had a fixed mindset about music and they tried to suppress it with their own methods. In one such period came Waris Shah, a disciple of Baba Makhdoom, who pupularized music. To fulfill the last wish of Guru, Waris Shah reached a village to write the epic love story of Heer Ranjha, which was now his sole mission in life. Here in this village Waris Shah underwent various emotions of life. In what circumstances he completed his mission of life and how his real life encounters got reflected in his book which is known as ' Heer Waris Shah' is there to see in the film- " Waris Shah- Ishq Daa Waaris".
