Some educators actually promote the idea of muffling when the tuning becomes challenging. There’s a simpler method though and it stems from the snare reso (snare side) drumhead. Assuming your wires and heads are in good, functional condition, this approach will allow you far more control of your drum without always needing to muffle it unnecessarily. 0:00 Intro 1:09 Skillshare 2:40 To Muffle or Not To Muffle? 3:21 Snare Side Tuning 1 6:03 Snare Side Tuning 2 6:59 Stop Defaulting to Extremes 9:10 Solution 11:24 Flexibility In Overall Tuning 11:55 Why This Is Important 13:21 Wrap up Can't get enough of Sounds Like a Drum?
