Mowing lawns as a solo lawn care operator is tough, but you CAN make really good money doing it... You're probably NOT going to get rich mowing lawns as a solo guy, but you CAN earn a comfortable living. I currently have a great team/crew I work with, and in all transparency could never do the volume of work we do without my crew/team. That being said there's not a DRASTIC difference in profit between a superb owner/operator business vs a mismanaged or inefficient lawn care company with employees. In fact, I would say it would be better to be solo than to have an inefficient team... frankly, it's just not worth the headache if you don't have a good crew.
