Why you must visit Chitradurga Fort | Forts of India | Chitradurga ka Killa

In this video, we will show you some highlights of the fort and why it is a must-see for those of you who would like to deep dive into the history of India. Please watch the video till the end as we give you a tour of how to best cover the fort without missing any of the historically significant parts of the fort. Chitradurga is located in Karnataka, about 4 hours by road from Bangalore, and can be done as an overnight trip, or preferably as a 2 day trip. This gives you ample time to explore all the regions of the Fort which is spread across a massive area of 1500 acres. A good part of the Fort is still intact, even though it was built 700 or 800 years back by the Chalukyas and the Hoysalas and was attacked and conquered by Hyder Ali and later by the British forces. What's amazing about the fort is that, they were using technologies like water harvesting etc even in those days, when we ourselves are struggling to implement that in today's world in many parts of the country. A walk through the landscapes of the fort shows their brilliant thought process, be it the stone grinders installed to make gunpowder, or the mud walls that were built which is standing strong even today! The many layers of fortification of walls shows how intelligently the fort was built to prevent the enemies from entering inside.
