It's a pretty realistic portrayal of their biographies and some history as well, when the conquistadores started to colonize and occupy the once utopian country of the Native Americans. I really appreciate the beautiful poetic lines, the innocence, the nearness to mother nature and the beautiful soundtrack by James Horner. It's one of the few beautiful innocent romantic movies which in my honest opinion actually portrays realistic feelings and expressions in a similar situation. I think it is a story about true love, not being an infatuation such as the story between John Smith and Pocahontas, but more like that of the story of Rolfe and Pocahontas, because they grew into loving one another and accepting each other despite their previous lives.
