In the early 1990s, Changi Airport began to focus on improving the airport experience for travelers, by introducing new facilities and amenities such as shopping, dining, and entertainment options. In 1995, the airport opened its second terminal, which was designed with a garden theme and featured a rooftop pool and a butterfly garden. In the following years, Changi Airport continued to innovate and expand, with the opening of Terminal 3 in 2008, and Terminal 4 in 2017.
