"O Holy Night" (originally called "Cantique de Noël") is a beautiful Christmas Carol normally sung on Christmas Eve. This prayerful carol sung by a soloist with piano and lyrics, reflects on the birth of Jesus as humanity's redemption. O Holy Night is based on an 1843 French-language poem by poet Placide Cappeau that composer Adolphe Adam set to music in 1847. The English version is by John Sullivan Dwight.
