3-5 year survival in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)?

What is the survival for cases of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Many resources online quote survival figures for IPF of 3-5 years from diagnosis. This can be very scary for most patients. However, 3-5 years represents a median, or middle number in a very large group of patients. Therefore survival will depend a lot on individual circumstances and the behavior of the disease. I would really recommend asking your own healthcare team about appropriate information for your case, as the disease behavior of IPF differs a lot from person to person. It is important to remember that IPF is a diagnosis of exclusion, and we can only exclude a relatively small number of causes. This makes IPF very different from case to case. Not all cases of IPF are the same. #pulmonaryfibrosis #ipf #survival Please leave comments below if you want me to cover other topics in ILD. ☕ Consider supporting my work by "buying a coffee" -- https://www.buymeacoffee.com/scstanel 📚 https://www.interstitiallungdisease.info 🐤   / scstanel   🎵 Podcast links: SPOTIFY: https://open.spotify.com/show/4NHgvZw...
