The Akita Shinkansen is a mini Shinkansen line that consists of half a conventional line section and half a Shinkansen section. The first half of this video shows the single-track conventional line section, which runs at approximately 130 km/h with several stops along the way to allow trains to pass each other. It is a wonderful experience as the train passes through beautiful nature. When the train is coupled with the E5 Series Hayabusa at Morioka and enters the Shinkansen section, it begins to run at full speed. The train will enjoy a smooth ride, consistently reaching 310 to 320 km/h up to Utsunomiya.
