Americas Largest Military Base Abandoned | Hidden in the City | Destination Adventure

You never know quite how things are going to turn out on the road. Some adventures go perfectly, some are not so perfect, but it is an adventure never the less. This adventure took me to some really amazing places this time, and I am so excited to be able to share them with all of you. The first stop was at the Radman - Hirahara House, just outside of Watsonville California. This is a beautiful old mansion, with a really heart warming story behind it. Being on private property, unfortunately I couldn't go and explore it, but it was sure nice to see. Our next stop, was at Fort Ord. This is the location that I was given the lead about, and it was surprisingly difficult to find. I don't think this site is necessarily "hidden" from the public, but it sure isn't openly advertised. Either way, we did find it, but again it is private property. I wish I was able to do some proper in depth adventures of these places for you guys, but unfortunately things are a little more challenging here in the larger cities. Heading further south down the coastline has been an adventure all its own, and this section was no exception. The whole area around Big Sur, is absolutely beautiful, but the storms have sent me challenges once again. I got through before they had to shut down the highway, but I had to drive over several slides on the highway. Thats all just the name of the game when you're traveling, and what matters is that we got through safe and sound. Before I officially left the coastline, I was so lucky to see a large Rookery of Elephant Seals. I stayed long enough to really get to enjoy these strange animals. I got to see them fight and play, but mostly they are just chillin on the beach. What a bunch of beach bums. I spent my Christmas in the desert, and it was actually quite nice. Its chilly and very windy, but it is for sure better than -30 like back home. If you find yourself really enjoying the show, and you're thinking "HMM I wonder how I can help Dustin on his travels?" Please consider taking a look at my Patreon page. That platform helps me tremendously when times get tough.   / destinationadventure
