We couldn’t perform this test on the road, obviously, so a proving ground seemed like the best location. Without the element of the unknown that real life brings to the equation, it seemed fair to hobble the racing driver slightly with a fairly rubbish vehicle by comparison to the Police BMW. OK.. I still got a Golf GTi, hardly a slug, but honestly it was knackered with bald tyres, shot suspension and I needed a tetanus jab after driving it because it was so filthy. See what you think of the result. It did get me wondering… what would be the ultimate cop car? Maybe I’ve watched Mad Max too many times.
