It;s one of the best times of the year to take a ride along the Animas River to Silverton on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Continuing the trend of regularly scheduled doubleheading steam excursions along the 45 mile long Silverton Branch, the Durango & Silverton rostered ex-Denver, Rio Grande & Western ALCo-built K-28 #473 and Baldwin-built K-36 #480, to run these packed 15 car trains the entire length of the line. This video covers four days of these doubleheaders through the beautiful autumn foliage of San Juan National Forest, both trackside and on the train.
