Liszt Paganini Etude No. 4b (1838) at 60 BPM (recommended tempo)

Presenting the most technically challenging etude of Franz Liszt, the fourth study in his "Studies for Transcendental Execution, after Paganini", S. 140. Russian pianist Nikolai Petrov is one of the very few pianists who have performed the entire set, including this monster. His performance is only about 9% short of the indicated tempo, which is quarter = 60 (however, it must be noted that this was probably put in by an editor and not Liszt himself; there is no tempo indication in the original score). The video shows both Petrov's original performance and a slightly fast-forwarded version of it which is true to the written tempo.
