A total of 16 Philippine universities were hailed as some of the best in Asia in the Quacquarelli-Symonds 2024 Asia University Rankings released on Wednesday. However, I believe our universities are worth a lot more than the ratings that QS gave them. The top four ranks are still occupied by the same universities from the 2023 rankings: the University of the Philippines at 78, followed by the Ateneo de Manila University at 137; De La Salle University at 154; and the University of Santo Tomas at 179. Included in the top 10 are Adamson University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of San Carlos, Mapúa University, Silliman University, and Ateneo de Davao University.
