Warhammer 40K: Speed Freaks Gameplay | WH40K Speed Freeks Open Beta Warhammer 40K: Speed Freeks has raced out of the gates with its open beta. This Twisted Metal meets Mad Max meets Warhammer 40K racing combat game promises some high-oktane, orc-krumping fun. Take control of a number of different vehicles with unique abilities as you race into the fray and try and blow the opposing team to bits. In-between matches, "kustomize" your vehicles paint jobs, rims, decorations, etc. In my brief time with the game I thought Speed Freeks was fun; simple but fun. The different vehicles aren't as iconic as those of Twisted Metal but they definitely look and feel like those straight out of the Orky portion of the Warhammer 40K universe. The game ran fine for the most part, some graphical lag here and there especially when you get krumped. I think it needs some fine-tuning in terms of the damage some of the abilities do; the rocket you launch from the tank does hardly any damage. There doesn't seem to be much planned for the game in terms of content & game modes though.
