Post-final-boss (AKA the funny Gaster man going by a different name), I imagine the Delta Warriors + Hometown's residents sealing the Castle Town Dark Fountain with their combined power, only for Kris to dive in headfirst at the last moment since they remembered something they forgot to do. They find a certain Vessel-y someone in the void, and offer their SOUL in order for said someone to live out their life on the surface like they've always wanted. Kris stays behind, cue heartfelt credits montage of Hometown's residents rebuilding after the Roaring (+ Asriel appearing or smth) while a full rendition of Don't Forget plays. This song is the "Goodnight" of Deltarune.
