We’re staying at Florence Falls 2wd Camp Ground (we do have a 4wd so read on to know why we’re staying in the 2wd camp). In this vid Dunc goes in search of an abattoir, ha, you’ll get to see first hand the lengths he’ll go to for some good quality protein. It's also my BIRTHDAY! (WOO) He planned an epic surprise… we get Florence Falls all to ourselves, then go off-road to Surprise Falls, Sandy Creek Falls AND we swing by the local homestead for an insight into the history of working families 100 or so years ago. Then it’s back to the caravan for a Northern Territory BBQ on the camp fire grills provided in camp. Favourite waterfall in Litchfield National Park? Sandy Creek Falls! 💦 Spoiler alert. We’re off grid and our off-road caravan (Coromal) doesn’t have any 12 volt fans (you betcha we bought them as soon as we reached civilization!), so you can imagine how much we melted on the cusp of wet season. Highlights: 0:00 Hunting for abattoirs 9:49 Soph’s birthday!!! 11:38 Florence Falls seclusion 18:03 Off-road driving 19:26 Blyth Homestead 30:15 Surprise Falls 33:34 Sandy Creek Falls 37:33 Campfire Dinner Litchfield TIPS ⛺️ Camp at Florence Falls 2wd Campground (it’s closer to the falls than the 4wd. Choose site number 23, easy to reverse a big caravan into and it’s the closest spot to the falls!! 🥑 Fill up with food (& fuel) before you come to the National Park as there’s limited supplies close by 💦 Skip Wangi Falls, it’s SO TOURISTY, you can thank us later ;) 🐟 Look under the water at Florence Falls to see the thousands of Grouter fish 🌅 Sunset at Tolmer Falls is an absolute must. It’ll give you a completely different perspective of the national park 📍Download offline maps (and 4wd maps) before you come for easy 4wding to some more epic waterfalls (stay tuned for PART 2!) 😁 Stay for a minimum of 4 days to explore all the best bits, and 7 days or longer if you want to travel slow and have some down time (or time to edit ha) As we travel Australia on our big lap, we’re just getting started in the Northern Territory and we can’t wait to show you more of this sunburnt country and it’s coral reefs, 4wd tracks, beach camps, fishing spots, mountains, waterfall gorges and rainforests as we explore the top end of Australia.
