Which means this path is not in the original Genesis version or other ports. This path needs to be as Sonic & Tails or just Tails to go through it. This path is annoying, especially using Sonic & Tails because Tails's AI is a bit weird, sometimes do what it wants by it's own. The second path is something worth you to try. The button you press to open a door actually at the same time, also spawns that little platform. You have to stand on it to let it move. This platform can let you go to an alternate path which skips a lot of annoying parts of Labyrinth Act 1. The only downside of this path, is that you can't collect 50 rings at the end so you're not gonna get into a Special Stage using this shortcut. The third one in "Scrap that brain Zone" has to be the hardest, and mindblowing one. There's a hidden transporter that will leads you to a secret shortcut to the end of the Act. However, to activate it, you have to got at least 50 rings. Which why this shortcut is the hardest because "Scrap that brain Zone" has too many hazards that is hard to avoid and it took me several tries just to get to the secret transporter.
