This is the Defiant One! Today, we take this board on my first (second lol), provide my initial impressions, talk about the specs, and give some feedback about the board in general. This board is technically in pre-order right now, so big shoutout to the folks at Defiant for letting me borrow this for a few weeks after Esk8con! The Defiant One is not your average electric skateboard. This board is more of a boutique take on the street based electric board, coming from a DIY background and using high quality parts throughout the whole build. Steel gear drives, large motors, a huge custom deck, custom purpose built enclosure, high quality battery cells, the list goes on. The value proposition for this board is a little complicated because you can really get a lot for $3000. As I ride it more I'll be able to form a better opinion on if it's worth the money or not, but as it stands right now, I think it is, for certain buyers.
