Who says classical music is only for old people? | Gian Marco Ciampa | TEDxLUISS

It is generally believed that classical music is boring. Through his outstanding performances, Gian Marco Ciampa, a classical guitar soloist, shows how it's only a question of sounds we are used to. Young people who are not (yet) musicians can enjoy the great beauty of classical music and surely grow up more sensitive to culture and art. Gian Marco Ciampa was born in Rome in 1990. After studying with high-calibre teachers such as Bruno Battisti d’Amario, Fabrizio Verile, Fernando Lepri and Celestino Dionisi, he graduated with top marks, distinction and Special Mention with M° Arturo Tallini from “Santa Cecilia” Conservatoire in Rome. He won the third prize in the prestigious "International Competition Michele Pittaluga" and Scientific Committee of the same competition awarded him the prestigious "Golden Guitar" as best young talent. In 2013 is the founder and creator of the "SUPERNOVA", an ensemble of guitars consisting of 8 young Italian guitarists winners of international competitions. Over the past few years Gian Marco has also been teaching both classical and electric guitar in several music schools in Rome such as the Civica Scuola delle Arti, the Cantiere della Musica, the Accademia Romana di Musica, the International Music Institute. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
