In 1976 Alan Watson Featherstone made a promise to restore Scotland's Caledonian Forest. On the back of that promise, he founded the hugely successful rewilding charity Trees for Life and is arguably responsible for the rewilding movement in Scotland and beyond. I was fortunate enough to spend a day with Alan in Glen Afric hearing about that feat and the ongoing impact his promise is having.
