Agility is so fun 😀 But we have to make it safe for our dogs, too! The common approach of luring is not ideal for teaching jumps. If the dog is looking at the treat in our hand they cannot see where they’re going! Placing the reward on the ground instead is a much safer and more effective way. Your dog will be able to plan the approach and jump. Btw: the jumps in the reel are very low and this is not random 😀 You should start any jump training with low bars and gradually (!!) work your way up. If you are making DIY jumps at home, always ensure that the bars are displaceable. If your dog crashes into a jump something has to give way and it should NOT be your dog’s legs!!
