The Unspoken Truth of Avengers Endgame - The Dangers of Event Film-Making

This is a video essay / retrospective about Avengers Endgame (2019). While Marvel Studios didn't always deliver on the quality prior to Endgame, the universe always felt real. It was a transportive experience watching a Marvel movie. In this video, I argue that some of Marvel Studios' big issues originate in Endgame, mainly the studios' addiction to getting a reaction out of their audience. Marvel seems to rely more on short-term stimulus than they have in the past, and this has hurt their recent projects. Movies and Television shows have not faired so well upon rewatch. There certainly are things to like about Avengers Endgame, a few of which I mention, but Endgame also has a lot to dislike, particularly the choice to go down the time travel route and the overreliance on callbacks and references, leaving the movie pretty hollow and void of substance in comparison to other Marvel movies such as Avengers Infinity War (2018) which was released only a year prior. #videoessay #avengersendgame #movies #moviereview #movieexplained #avengersinfinitywar #mcu #disneyplus
